COOK ISLANDS @ THE BIG BANG NZFA 2014
|
![]() In Feb 2014 Motone Productions took 12 stellar Cook Island drummers to
Wellington to be a part of the NZFA THE BIG BANG opening event. The twist is
that the drummers ranged in age from 6 to 18 years old and were selected by
Murray Hickman of Strike Percussion when he came to Rarotonga to be the very
first Creative Artist in Residence run by Motone Productions. These kids are talented! The opportunity to
perform in this production extended their whole perception on what is
possible with the arts and music. We raised the 25K to complete this project thought the wonders of local fundraising in the Cook Islands and the fabulous BOOSTED site where our overseas supporter could donate.
Motone works to promote development of the Creative talents of Cook Islanders and this project shone! Have a look at some of the coverage http://www.3news.co.nz/The-Big-Bang-opens-for-the-NZ-International-Arts-Festival/tabid/817/articleID/332860/Default.aspx |
