Motone started creating events in Rarotonga in 2007 at Cafe Salsa with the then owner Tony Bullivant. Tony and events producer and musician Maurice Newport combined to create music events coupled with Tony's internationally accclaimed cuisine. The first event featuring New Zealand 's own Uncle Monkey was a great success and from that event regular gig nights became a feature of the cafe. Artists such as New Zealand's Anna Coddington, Lyndon Puffin, opera singer Mary Livingstone, UK guitar legend Graham Neil have featured along with a vibrant range of Rarotongas own talent. In 2009 Motone registered as a limited liability company and from then on have been creating and producing events in Rarotonga.
